Dr. Regina Berry
Executive Director
Dr. Regina Berry holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a Masters Degree in Family Studies, with specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy and certification in Behavioral Science (University of Kentucky). Dr. Berry is a native of Lexington, Kentucky, and has a long history of designing and developing and implementing programs to improve educational and social opportunities and outcomes for students at-risk for school failure. As the CEO of the Center for Family and Community Services, Dr. Berry has administrative authority to oversee day-to-day activities of all federal, state and corporate funded projects, supervision of staff, and the coordination of activities with collaborative partners. Moreover, Dr. Berry oversees all aspects of evaluation of programs, and management of budgetary activities of all grants to ensure adherence to federal and state financial mandated guidelines. Dr. Berry has provided family therapy for children and families of diverse racial, ethnic, and social classes and backgrounds and specializes in treating youth with problems of delinquency, aggression, and violent behavior. She also has taught undergraduate courses in the areas of Human Development and Learning, Human Development Over the Lifespan, Theories of Learning Applied to Teaching, Transition to Education, Problems in Educational Psychology: Simulation-Based Learning, School Violence, and Youth Violence: Prevention and Intervention.

Marisol Valles, Case Manager/Recruiter

Marisol Valles is originally from Mexico. She is has lived in the United States since 1996. In 1999, when she started attending Kentucky State University, she moved to Frankfort, KY from Emporia Kansas. In 2001 she completed a BA triple major in Marketing, Management and Business with a minor in Art. In 1999 she became an Educational Assistant at Peers Empowering Peers Program where she helped students in a variety of subjects. In 2003, while pursuing her Master in Public Administration, she was the Graduate Assistant for KSU student athletics until she graduated in 2005. Marisol has worked for the State Government as an H-2A Program Specialist for four years. In 2005 she started to work for a private corporation, Cobalt Publishing, as an Account Executive. In 2009 she became the Outreach Coordinator for the Migrant Farm Workers with Disabilities Employment Partnership at the University of Kentucky covering Fayette and surrounding counties. She had the opportunity to partnership with other agencies to provide services to the community. Ms. Valles is currently working with the Center for Family and Community Services' KY HEP Initiative Project helping seasonal and migrant farm workers obtain their GED in their native language.

Vincent Rivera, Recruiter

Vincent Rivera is originally from Mexico City, Mexico. Vincent spent about thirty years in Chicago where he did most of his studies in Business Administration and Theology. He is married to Esperanza, who has worked with UK for almost four years, They have been together for 35 years and have three daughters and ten grandchildren. Vincent felt called from Chicago to Lexington, Kentucky to be the Horse Breeding Farms Chaplain which he performed for four and a half years. Vincent also has worked with the city of Lexington's Parks and Recreation as a Recreation Specialist for four years. He has a passion for Hispanic Outreach and joins our organization as a Recruiter.
Oscar Trujillo, GED Adult Basic Education Instructor

Oscar Trujillo's goal is to encourage the community to participate actively in the solution of their own problems and to have a better quality of life. Oscar is originally from Colombia and has been living in Lexington for the past five years. His experience includes working as a Spanish Instructor at Transylvania University, Bluegrass Community Technical College (BCTC), and Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning. Ever since he came to Lexington, Oscar has been interested in working with adults, instructing them to learn the Spanish Language, and working with the Hispanic Community. In fact, Oscar worked in Columbia for one of the most important Non Profit Organization (ONG) CINEP for almost five years as a community organizer. Oscar has a Masters Degree in Education and Social Research from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia. His bachelor is in Philosophy at the Universidad Santo Tomás in Colombia and Pontificia Universidad Urbaniana de Roma. Oscar has taught Philosophy and Humanities in High School and University for more than fifteen years.

Yvonne Kettenring, Office Manager
Yvonne Kettenring has lived in Central Kentucky all her life. She has an Associate Degree from the University of Kentucky. Yvonne has worked in Office Administration since her senior year of high school where she co-oped with Kentucky Utilities. She joined the Center for Family and Community Services in 2007 and is a passionate advocate for low income families in Central Kentucky.
