Center For Family and Community Services

The Center for Family and Community Services, Inc. (CFCS) is a grassroots community-based charitable 501 c(3) organization that was established in 1987 by Lexington-Fayette County community leaders.  The initial purpose of the organization was to address concerns regarding reports of students’ low academic performances, adolescents’ drug use and sexually transmitted diseases.  Over the years the CFCS has evolved into an educational and social services agency that addresses the needs of children and families who are educationally or economically disadvantaged.

21st Century After-School Programs

Our 21st Century After-School Programs are grant funded through the Kentucky Department of Education under the No Child Left Behind legislation.  We have operated 21st Century Programs in Arlington Elementary, Yates Elementary, Crawford Middle School, and Harrison Elementary.

After School Community Learning Center

Our After School Community Learning Center Programs are tuition based and offer the same quality programming that is implemented in our 21st Century After-School Programs.

Kentucky HEP Initiative Project

Our KY HEP Initiative Project helps seasonal and migrant agricultural workers obtain their GED.  Our bilingual instructors teach classes in the Spanish or English Language.  Our HEP Program is grant funded through the U.S. Department of Education.

Urban Academy & Performing Arts Preschool

Our Urban Academy & Performing Arts Preschool is tuition based.  Our preschool focuses on a strong reading foundation while incorporating performing arts into the curriculum.  Our preschool is licensed with the State of Kentucky Child Care Licensing Division.
